Three Best Sights to See in Florence, Italy.

When we talk about visiting Italy, a lot of people would usually think of Rome as their first choice. But close to that is the City of Lillies itself, Florence! And there is a good reason as to why!

Known to be one of the main cities where the Renaissance period first started, Florence is a city filled with art and culture. Delicious food, breathtaking city sights, and so much more await the tourist visiting this great city!

But it can also be a pretty easy place to get lost in. This is why we made a small list of the three best sights to see in Florence so that you won’t find yourself having to desperately get everywhere all at once!

Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Piazza Duomo.

The most famous sight to see in Florence, and probably the first place people would think of when they hear the name of the city popped up, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Piazza Duomo should be your number one place to check out in Florence.

In this relatively small area, you will get to see a stunning collection of some of the best pieces of art during the Renaissance period. Artworks from Ghiberti, Michelangelo, Giotto, Donatella, and so much more reside in this small space for you to see!

But before you head inside, make sure to take in the unique set of architecture. Take photos near the bell tower, the cathedral, and the museum doors to fully experience the aura that this place emits!

Piazzale Michaelangiolo.

The name itself can be pretty hard to spell that even the locals slip up when trying to spell it themselves. But besides the tongue twister of a name, Piazzale Michaelangiolo is one of the best places to check out if you want to see the whole of Florence in one go.

This is a mandatory bus stop for tours, so you have a pretty high chance of getting here no doubt. The place shows a whole 360-degree view of the city and is one of the most stunning views to see in all of Italy as well.

The best way to enjoy Piazzale Michaelangiolo is by heading here around late afternoon or during the sunset. Some of the most notable sights you can see here include the Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio, Santa Croce, and other landmarks.

Boboli Gardens.

Now, if you’re looking to catch a break from the cities’ busy streets and crowded alleys, then how about a nice and refreshing stroll around Boboli Gardens? Because this is definitely a stop that you would not want to miss!

Boboli Gardens can be found behind the Pitti Palace, where it covers about 111 acres of green terraces. It’s the most unique place to check out not just in this list, but also in the whole city. It’s a great stop if you have elderly people who just want to sit back and enjoy the greens with the wind!

Florence is one of the best cities to check out in all of Italy. One of the homes to the Renaissance period that completely changed the country, it still holds itself as one of the most diverse and beautiful places to see in all of Europe. From places like the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Piazza Duomo, the Piazzale Michaelangiolo, or the Boboli Gardens. You’ll be sure to have a unique experience in the City of Lillies!
