Rick Buckner

Rick has over 32 years of safe firearm handling, including rifle, shotgun, and handgun. Since the age of 18, Rick has owned and trained with a .44 Magnum handgun. He has a genuine interest in all aspects of safety, not only with firearms, but also by serving as a member of his employer's safety team since 1987.

To better serve his students, Rick continually updates his training credentials to increase his firearm educational teaching skills and experience. Rick is certified to instruct in NRA Basic Pistol and NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home. He is an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer, and an NRA Recruiter.

After becoming certified as an NRA Instructor in 2005, Rick became more intensely involved with other firearm education groups in the state: Michigan2A and Michigan Gun Owners. Rick is Vice President of Michigan2A, Rick is also honored to be the president of the Michigan Gun Owners.





Ed Hoffman

Ed first learned safe gun handling in the Boy Scouts at age 11. He received his first rifle at age 12 after proving to his parents he could handle it safely and responsibly. Ed learned more about firearms safety and handling during his 12 years in the Air National Guard.

For the past 15 years, he has continually taken safety and marksmanship classes to improve his skills and to keep up to date on shooting techniques. Ed is certified as a Range Safety Officer through the NRA and a Hunter’s Safety Instructor by the state of Michigan. Ed is currently serving as President of the Howell Gun Club and has also served for the past 3 years on the board of Michigan Gun Owners



Jason Baker

Jason’s passion for firearms stared in 1992 when he first learned how to safely use and handle firearms in general. A U.S. Army veteran, while serving with the 82nd Airborne Division he qualified with the expert rating on various weapons. Jason left the Army in 2000 and continued to shoot and train using the skills and knowledge he learned. Now an appointed NRA Training Counselor, he enjoys teaching others what he has learned and continues to stay on top of his training.
